Description

ARBO UNDERCOAT Wood Primer is LEAD & MERCURY FREE, Tropicalised , Environmentally Friendly Priming and Undercoating Paint.
Use:
Best for priming raw lumber and other wooden substrates such as plyboard, ten test, chip board etc. Protects against degradation caused by the effect of water, cosmic rays, atmospheric gases, salt spray and wood destroying pests.

Properties:
  •  Deep penetration on wood
  •  Good film build
  •  Good filling of pores and crevices
  •  Quick setting and drying to hard water impermeable finish
  •  Easily sanded to a smooth finish
Finish: Semi Gloss
Coverage: 300-350 Sq. Feet per gallon depending on Surface Conditions, Porosity, Absorption, Film Thickness etc.
Thinning and Clean-up: Thinning generally not necessary. Roller/Spray applications may need upto 500ml of Torginol Regular Thinner per 4 Litres of Arbo Undercoat Wood Primer.
Re-Coat Time: Allow to dry for 16 hours or more before recoating. Sand slightly between coats.

Why do I need to use a primer instead of just using two coats of the finish paint?

Answer: A primer is beneficial because it helps provide a uniform surface that promotes good adhesion of the topcoat. A primer can also serve a special purpose by sealing a porous surface, blocking out stains, preventing rust formation on iron and steel. Most finish paints are designed to provide a decorative or protective finish for a substrate. In most situations, they do not provide the features of a primer, so it is always important to follow the manufacturer's recommended coating system.
