Poor Galvanized Metal Adhesion

Paint that has lost its adhesion to a galvanised metal substrate. Possible Cause:
  1. Improper surface preparation, such as inedquate rust removal.
  2. Failure to remove the oil coating in the metal before repainting.
  3. Failure to apply a primer before application.
  4. Failure to sand glossy surface before painting.
Solution:
  1. Any rust on the metal should be removed by wirebrush or by using a rust remover.
  2. Clean the Galvanised metal with mineral spirits to take of the oil coating, allow it to dry and paint with a corrosion resistant primer.
